YOUR FASHION FORECAST: FW ’17 Trend Predictions

Be on the Lookout for These Trends This Fall/Winter Season

Ahh, it’s finally Pumpkin Spice season and New York Fashion Week has come to an end. Luckily the slay is year round. Posh fashionista teas, to leather, gingham prints, glitterati boots and more. Here are my top five FW’17 Trend Predictions.

1. LEOPARD/CHEETAH PRINT

I’ve been spotting an unusual amount of leopard print lately….and I’m so here for it. Reminds me of BeyoncĂ© in her”Kitty Kat” music video. It’s a vibe, really.

2. STILETTO BOOTS FOR THE BOSS BABES

I love a good boot. If Florida receives a front cold enough for me to step out and flex in a bad pair of snakeskin, leather or over-the-knee boots, you’d better believe I’m going for it. The sock boot, popularized by Kanye West, has made an ultimate comeback for the fall/winter season.

PS, I found some great dupes (in case you don’t feel like spending your college tuition money) on a pair of fabulous, $10,000 YSL glitterati boots. Thank me later.

3. STATEMENT EARRINGS

I don’t feel like myself without a pair of earrings on. Forever 21, Aldo, and (if you’re willing to splurge) Bauble Bar carry a gorgeous selection of earrings.

4. FRINGE/FUR JACKETS

The last time I remember stepping outside to “freezing” cold weather that required a hefty coat or jacket, was in 2015 when I started my Freshman year at FAMU. Wild, wild, wild.

5. RED FROM HEAD TO TOE

If you were tuned in to New York Fashion Week, did you notice a trend? Solid red. From Jason Wu, to Prabal Gurung and more, red seems to be the “it” color for the fall.

I can’t wait to rock a pair of leather boots, suede clothing, and faux fur jackets!  What trends are you looking forward to this fall? Sound off in the comments below!

As always, keep on stylin’!

XOXO,

Kathryn M. Lewis
