When you look good, you feel good
By: A’nire Glenn
Some things are out of our control. But, some things are well within our abilities. Looking good is something we can all make possible. If we feel awful, we can try looking good to make ourselves feel as best as we can. Because, when you look good, you feel good too.
Feeling good is how everything else flows and feeling good actually steers your whole day. If I’m sick or in a bad mood, things usually don’t go too well. The way I cheer myself up is to dress my best when I’m feeling my worst. Putting on a stuffy sweater that matches my stuffy nose, makes me feel that much more stuffy.
Being filled with optimism and pure joy tends to radiate everywhere you walk. If you’re having one of those unusual mornings where you wake up and just feel off, GET OUT OF IT. Get up, snatch your favorite outfit out of the closet and throw it on. Make it a habit to live your best life everyday.
Apply your MAC lipstick that makes your lips pop, Put on that Rihanna wig that makes you feel summer time fine. Tie up the laces on your favorite sneakers and step outside with a little more confidence than you had before.

Put on that shirt with the ruffles on it that makes you want to spin around. Slip on your Beyonce inspired lemonade dress and strut through your room until you feel fierce. Find your favorite hoodie with your favorite rapper on the front and milly-rock your sadness away. Whatever funk you’re in, dress it out.

We all have our different styles which we express through our wardrobe. For some, the fitted cocktail dress is the best choice from their more mature or professional wardrobe. It might make one feel strong and confident. For others, it’s a t-shirt of their favorite quote. Different clothes serve as little reminders of some of our more beloved things. For instance, I have a black hoodie with Born Sinner on the front which makes me think about the time I saw my favorite artist, J Cole, in concert.
Whatever it is for you, do you. Have some go-to’s to get that good feeling. When you look good, you truly feel good. Some clothes are linked to our favorite memories or have our favorite scents. Or maybe the two go hand in hand. However, it’s not to say if you’re not feeling good you’re not looking good, but it does make a difference when you’re on your A game.
Thank you, A’nire for writing such a heartfelt piece for my Style Katz! It’s the little things that we can do that can make a world of a difference in the way we feel about ourselves.
